The Lawrenceburg Fire Department will conduct car seat installation checks, and participants who register in advance will receive a free infant car seat, compliments of the Dearborn County Health Department. *Requires registration; space is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Congenital syphilis (CS) occurs when syphilis passes to babies during pregnancy. Syphilis is an STI that can cause serious health problems without treatment.
CS cases have more than tripled in recent years, with nearly 4,000 cases reported in 2024 alone. This is the highest number reported in one year since 1994. Registration is required

The lead stored in adult bones can be released into the blood during pregnancy. This means that the level of lead in their blood can start to increase during pregnancy. If a woman is exposed to lead during her pregnancy, the developing baby can also be exposed . Registration is required.

Preeclampsia is persistent high blood pressure that happens during pregnancy or after giving birth. It is potentially serious and its complications, such as liver and kidney damage, can threaten the life of mother and baby. Preeclampsia can also cause a decrease in the number of blood cells called platelets and damage to the placenta, the kidneys or liver.

Presented by the Pregnancy Care Center: Shaken baby syndrome is a serious brain injury that results from forcefully shaking an infant or a toddler. It is also known as abusive head trauma, shaken impact syndrome, inflicted head injury, or whiplash shaken infant syndrome.
